SpelinsiktEnglish
A nonprofit force from Sweden

Hi from Gabriel, Peter and the team

Welcome. This is Spelinsikt, a Swedish nonprofit built by passionate volunteers for people fighting gambling addiction, and their loved ones.

How it was built

Two years. No funding. Built by humans.

Spelinsikt has been built over two years, entirely without funding, together with students from Swedish tech and design programs. Real code, written by real engineers, not vibe-coded by an AI. Built with security, privacy and clinical responsibility from day one.

Real engineering, not AI-built

Every line of code is reviewed by humans. Architecture, security and data handling are designed deliberately, not generated by a chatbot.

Security & privacy first

Anonymous by default, with proper authentication, row-level access control and encrypted storage. Built to handle sensitive data the right way.

About Spelinsikt

No one should have to fight gambling addiction alone

We are two people who have struggled with gambling addiction ourselves and today live in recovery. We know how hard it is to get help, and how strong the stigma is. A safe, anonymous platform was missing. So we built one.

Our mission

Gambling addiction is invisible. We want to change that.

Gambling addiction has no smell, no obvious physical signs. Many live in total isolation. It can be anyone close to you, or a loved one who is hit just as hard, but often forgotten. Our ambition is to shorten the distance between the person who gambles and their loved ones, and to make help accessible no matter how you are affected.

Partners & expertise

Built in collaboration with people who know the field

We don't build alone. Spelinsikt is shaped together with patient organizations, researchers and clinicians.

Spelberoendes Riksförbund

Sweden's national association for people affected by gambling addiction. Lived experience and patient-organization perspective.

Researchers

Academic researchers in gambling harm and behavioral addiction help us ground the product in evidence.

Psychologists

Licensed psychologists guide tone, exercises and clinical safety, for both gamblers and loved ones.

Thank you

The team behind Spelinsikt

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who helped build Spelinsikt.

This has not been an ordinary project.

We've visited many schools, met students in development, design and tech. Pitched our vision. Explained why this is needed.

And you stepped up. As interns. As volunteers. As believers.

At the same time we've had support from senior ex-colleagues who also contributed. You know who you are.

Breaking into the job market right now isn't easy. That's why it means extra much to be part of giving students a chance to work on something that actually goes live.

How many interns get to be part of building an application that launches for real?
